Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional leadership experience in a food manufacturing or high-speed industrial environment
  • A general understanding of industrial mixing and packaging processes, with a commitment to maintaining a sanitary production environment
  • Knowledge of food safety standards such as HACCP, CCP, and SQF (prior experience with high-level quality audits is a plus)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to calculate and record technical data accurately and professionally
  • A "floor-first" leadership style with the physical capability to stand, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs in an active manufacturing setting
  • A stable work history with an eagerness to learn, grow, and take on new challenges within a rapidly scaling organization
  • A residence within 45 minutes of the Madison, WI area
  • Must be a United States citizen or Green Card holder

Responsibilities

  • Direct all daily activities for specialized production lines, ensuring high-quality products are manufactured to strict customer specifications and timelines
  • Lead and verify the training of all front-line employees, including Mixing and Packaging Leads, to ensure a high-performing and cross-trained team
  • Serve as the primary authority for shift safety and quality, enforcing GMP compliance and conducting daily safety talks to eliminate operational risk
  • Oversee critical food safety documentation, verifying that all production, quality, and CCP paperwork is accurate and complete prior to sign-off
  • Collaborate closely with Maintenance and Production Management to report downtime, coordinate repairs, and assign work activities during production cycles
  • Maintain the authority to stop production processes for any safety or quality reasons, ensuring the organization’s "Zero Defects" standards are upheld
