POSITION SUMMARY: As a Production Supervisor, you are responsible for the supervisory management within the production area and for ensuring that all assigned tasks are delivered on time, and according to the production specification. You will report to a Production Manager who will guide you and expect you to effectively manage processes within the operation. You will lead a team of production employees who will look to you for leadership, guidance, direction, and accountability. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for keeping production flowing, for meeting performance goals and for maintaining the high level of quality that consumers expect from our products. This is a “safety sensitive” position; therefore, the employee must adhere to all OSHA and Standard Operating Procedures that have been put into place. JOB FUNCTIONS: Facilitate interdepartmental cooperation and understanding; provide team mentorship and supervision to ensure a positive work environment and employee engagement that supports VM core values Support Production Manager in achieving and maintaining established department metrics daily Direct, coordinate and facilitate the day-to-day production activities of one or more production lines utilizing standard work methodology Manage production procedures to ensure the production of a quality product, maximizing output, minimizing waste and increasing efficiencies while maintaining company safety standards Meets daily production and quality goals SAFETY: Production Supervisors will conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, and all state and federal regulations (such as 6S, Lean Manufacturing, OSHA, etc.). Bring problems to the attention of the Production Manager, Production Director, Safety Manager or HR Director. Provide support to Safety Manager by reviewing and completing all safety communications and action items as scheduled with team members Ensures all workplace safety standards and practices are upheld Production Supervisors must adhere to PPE requirements at all times ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts. The employee is also exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
