About The Position

The Production Supervisor plans and coordinates production activities to ensure manufacture of quality products in a safe, cost effective, timely manner using shift personnel, equipment, facilities, materials, and organizational support.

Requirements

  • The employee must have good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with maintenance staff, outside contractors, vendors, suppliers, and personnel from other company departments.
  • The employee must be capable of supervising, directing, and training production personnel.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must be highly motivated and have the ability to work additional hours, any shift or day as required to maintain plant operations.
  • Excellent peoples skills, willing and able to work through people in achieving company daily requirements, short and long term goals and objective.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and additional hours as needed.
  • The employee will have 2 years college or equivalent background.
  • The employee must have a minimum of 3-5 year's experience working in automotive manufacturing.
  • Basic math and problem solving skills required for measurement, scheduling, and tracking metrics.
  • Must have good computer skills with a working knowledge of email, MS Excel, MS Word, and AS400.
  • The employee must have the ability to define problems, draw valid conclusions, and determine a proper course of action.
  • The employee must be able to implement necessary solutions with little or no direct supervision adhering to company policies and practices.

Responsibilities

  • To direct and coordinate shift personnel to produce company product in a quality, on time and in a safe manner.
  • To ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • To ensure manufacturing standards, quality controls (SPC, etc.) and operating procedures are maintained, achieved and adhered to.
  • To report and assist in the resolution of all manufacturing difficulties, facilities, equipment, materials and / or personnel problems.
  • To ensure effective communications including shift carryovers.
  • To ensure shift personnel are trained to perform their job to established manufacturing and quality standards in a cost-efficient manner.
  • Reconciles and approves hourly employee timecards in E-Time.
  • Knowledge and practice of Hutchinson’s Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures and requirements.
