Material and/or printing defects can be detected by automatic camera inspection systems and are easily eliminated by the operators. Job Summary: To provide leadership to the production department and ensure day-to-day operations are completed as instructed. To ensure consistent operation of all equipment and processes and ensure the delivery of consistent services and products meet customer expectations.

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; High School Diploma
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in management/supervisory role
  • Regularly use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms above and below shoulder level
  • Regularly stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Regularly communicate in some manner either by speech/hearing or through written communication.
  • Regularly use of vision abilities including close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly work around moving machinery and heavy equipment.
  • Frequently required to push/pull.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently exposed to high-speed moving mechanical parts.
  • Frequently exposed to UV, strobing or flashing light.
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes, dust or airborne particles.
  • Regularly exposed to moderate noise level in the work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, injury/accident-free workplace and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
  • Ensure proper staffing to complete jobs as designated
  • Is responsible for direct supervision of designated staff and ensure proper training is completed by employees
  • Initiate appropriate actions for maintaining a safe and clean working environment
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental procedures and regulations
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement necessary changes to positively impact production
  • Communicate job expectations, provide training, guidance and coaching in a constructive and consistent manner
  • Ensure that all incidents are investigated and reported in a timely manner, determining root cause analysis and preventative measures and ensure that employees are using the proper PPE when completing a task
  • Manage and address employee conduct or performance issues by investigating the issue and identifying the root causes. Seeking advice from HR and upper management as needed
  • Participate in production meetings and identify corrective actions as needed
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • Other duties as assigned by management
