About The Position

The production supervisor position is responsible for supervising production employees in the machining or fabrication environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. Supervisor is responsible for promoting a safe work environment and overall training effectiveness. Supervisor must at all times support and promote the company Vision, Mission and Values using UPSCALE as the foundation.

Requirements

  • High School graduate required. Associate or bachelors degree preferred.
  • 5-8 years of experience in a production environment. Previous management experience preferred.
  • Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
  • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills.

Responsibilities

  • LMA: Adheres to and holds staff to company values, resolves personnel problems by investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed and holding self and staff accountable.
  • Dept. Schedule Compliance: Manage department priorities. Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; and adjusting as necessary. Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries. Maintain proper inventory levels
  • EE training: Provide employee coaching and development. Track absenteeism and timekeeping. Maintains staff by orienting and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Operator PMs: Ensures all machine PMs are getting completed as scheduled
  • Dept Performance: Ensures department goals are being achieved and provides regular progress reports to manager, suggests opportunities for continuous improvements. Monitors personnel and resource needs, implements cost reductions
  • Employee feedback/reviews: Ensures continual employee feedback is given, quarterly one on ones with all employees are done and employee reviews are completed on time.
  • Safety: Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures. Performs accident investigations, follow-up and takes corrective action to resolve safety issues.
