About The Position

The Nutrition Production Supervisor is a key operational leader responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day production activities within the Nutrition manufacturing areas at the Quincy, IL facility. This role ensures safe, compliant, and efficient operations across production, packaging, quality, shipping, and maintenance coordination. Operating in a highly regulated food and pharma‑adjacent environment, the Supervisor plays a critical role in meeting customer demand while maintaining audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement. This position requires a seasoned production leader with strong floor presence, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to drive performance in a 24/7 operation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience supervising production operations in food, nutrition, pharma, or regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of GMPs, food safety standards, and regulatory compliance (FDA, MSHA, IEPA).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a high‑activity, multi-shift production environment.
  • Experience driving Continuous Improvement, efficiency gains, and audit readiness.
  • Ability to prioritize, problem‑solve, and operate independently with limited supervision.
  • Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office, production systems, data entry).
  • Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; CPIM or related credentials a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise non‑exempt and contract employees across milling, packaging, shipping, and quality functions to meet production, safety, and quality targets.
  • Manage production schedules, shift coverage, and labor allocation to ensure timely customer delivery and operational continuity.
  • Enforce compliance with FDA regulations, GMPs/cGMPs, HACCP, FSSC 22000, MSHA, IEPA, and internal company policies.
  • Maintain continuous audit readiness and ensure adherence to sanitation, safety, and quality standards.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement initiatives, including Lean practices, process optimization, cross‑training, and equipment or workflow enhancements.
  • Spend 70–80% of time on the production floor directing teams, monitoring safety, productivity, and compliance.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance to address mechanical and electrical needs; initiate work orders as required.
  • Review and approve employee time records, ensuring accurate labor reporting and compliance with attendance and overtime policies.
  • Support and complete required EHS activities including training, incident investigations, JSAs, and reporting.
  • Train and onboard new employees; support required monthly and role‑based training completion.
  • Communicate operational updates across shifts and provide regular reporting to the Production Manager and Plant leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support plant objectives.
