The Role: Reporting to our Operations Manager in La Vergne, Tennessee, the Production Supervisor will oversee and coordinate the activities of production employees and comply with all safety, quality, and operational performance standards. The Production Supervisor partners with multiple different departments (Safety, Engineers, Quality Assurance, Shipping, etc.) to ensure our planner and production schedules meet customer expectations, quality, and safety standards, with success measured by on-time delivery, quality metrics, and safety compliance, and to be available to employees throughout the shift. In 2026, our team has ambitious goals to exceed cable production, and the Production Supervisor will play a key role by collaborating with Quality, the Cable Department, and Sales to ensure we produce quality products and deliver orders efficiently, contributing to our shared success. This role is for second shift 2:00pm - 10:30pm CST.

Requirements

  • At least 8+ years of professional working experience in an applicable manufacturing operation with working knowledge of lean principles.
  • At least 2+ years of management experience is preferred.
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing and Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering, or an appropriate technical discipline is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Working experience with JDE (or Microsoft Dynamic) and Excel is preferred.
  • Working experience managing, coaching, and developing a team of direct reports.
  • Proven working experience reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Experience writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Experience speaking effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all manufacturing goes smoothly and efficiently by closely monitoring the safe production and its processes involving 8-12 team members on a shift.
  • Meet or exceed daily metrics that include, but not limited to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity.
  • Serve as a leader, teacher, counselor, coach leading a team of entry-level or semi-skilled hourly employees such as machine operators.
  • Partner with our department Managers across production to resolve daily production issues such as material, delivery, quality, and employee performance.
  • Forecast, plan, and communicate staffing needs to meet the peak demands of the business ensuring timely production and quality standards for all production shifts.
  • Manage team personnel issues, including, but not limited to, vacation approvals, timecard approvals, daily and weekly overtime, hiring, and training.
  • Anticipates production problems and, where feasible, devises and implements procedures to offset loss of staffing hours and interruptions.
  • Monitor and report on daily production results, material usage, waste, and downtime while measuring improvements to production methods and performance.
  • Partner and coordinate with Quality Control to maintain quality standards; take appropriate corrective measures to resolve deficiencies.
  • Assists the Quality team in identifying non-conformance causes and assists in non-conformance dispositioning by utilizing skills and technical research in addition to collecting and analyzing data related to manufacturing bottlenecks.
  • Partner Management and our Quality team to outline workflows and documentation of manufacturing instructions and quality control processes.
  • Complete required portions of the various quality-control inspection forms and reports while performing inspection and test procedures; track quality outputs and publishes reports to inform others of fundamental quality issues, trends, and corrective action items.
  • Apply lean production techniques and supervises the development of teams, stations, or cells to support the process.
