About The Position

As a Production Supervisor (2nd Shift) working onsite in Strongsville, OH, you will report to the Production Manager. You will drive safety, quality, delivery, and productivity of teams to ensure goals are met through the development of and adherence to standardized work. Through process discipline and building worker engagement, you will lead the assigned Production Area, ensuring a focus on safety, risk reduction, and continuous improvement. You will be located at PPG's Strongsville, OH Plant and will report to the Production Manager. Requirements

  • HS Diploma required.
  • 3+ years' experience in production, and previous supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, to bend, and stand or walk for long periods of time in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Chemical or batch manufacturing preferred.
  • Previous experience with ERP systems, Oracle preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents.
  • Lead daily shift meetings with focus on safety hazard recognition and safety tip of the day.
  • Assign and prioritize work to the hourly workforce.
  • Maintain the safety program and facilitate a "Safety First" culture to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Manage production progress, including workflow optimization, staffing, and resource allocation; implement cost-saving measures and manage shift to achieve defined plant metrics and goals.
  • Collaborate with fellow supervisors and cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and EHS personnel to solve problems.
  • Utilize data to identify solutions and recommend actions.
  • Facilitate and grow a culture of workforce engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement.
