About The Position

The Supervisor, Production leads a team of technicians responsible for assembling, integrating, and testing systems and related aerospace components. This role manages daily production operations to meet safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives. The Supervisor provides hands-on leadership, ensures compliance with AS9100/ITAR processes, removes barriers to flow, and supports crossfunctional alignment with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Planning.   • Provides oversight and direction to the employees in accordance with AEVEX’s policies and procedures.
  • Associates degree in manufacturing operations, business, technology, or related field (additional experience within a manufacturing operation will be accepted in lieu of a degree).
  • 5+ years of aerospace manufacturing, defense production, or complex assembly experience.
  • 2+ years of direct people leadership experience (Lead Tech, Team Lead, or Supervisor).
  • Experience in AS9100 or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems and production scheduling tools.
  • Intermediate skill set (demonstrated) utilizing MS Excel.
  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing operations, Business, Industrial Engineering or similar.
  • Certifications such as IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC/WHMA-620, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing.
  • Experience in unmanned systems, aircraft integration, or electronics/mechatronics production.
  • Experience leading root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of production technicians and Lead Technicians.
  • As a member of the management team, execute business decisions and strategic priorities.
  • Assign work, manage staffing levels, and coordinate daily priorities to meet production schedules.
  • Conduct daily tier meetings and communicate key metrics, risks, and requirements.
  • Maintain a high-performing team environment focused on accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate shift handoff and ensure accurate communication across workgroups.
  • Enforce all safety requirements, conduct safety walks, and immediately address unsafe conditions.
  • Ensure ITAR, ESD, FOD, and hazardous-material handling procedures are followed.
  • Maintain a clean and compliant work area aligned with 5S and lean standards.
  • Ensure adherence to work instructions, drawings, torque specifications, and configuration control.
  • Support First Article builds, inspections, and readiness for customer and regulatory audits.
  • Partner with Quality to resolve in-process issues, support MRB/NCR processes, and drive corrective actions.
  • Verify all documentation (DHR, travelers, checklists) is completed correctly and on time.
  • Monitor and communicate engineering or process changes.
  • Ensure production tasks are completed within planned cycle times and to schedule.
  • Coordinate with Planning, Supply Chain, and Materials teams to ensure parts, kits, and tooling are available when needed.
  • Escalate shortages, engineering issues, and bottlenecks proactively.
  • Support and maintain capacity planning and labor forecasting.
  • Provide hands-on support for complex assemblies or troubleshooting as needed.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to improve processes, update work instructions, and support new product introductions.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance product reliability.
  • Conduct performance reviews, coaching sessions, and corrective action (as needed).
  • Build and maintain a strong cross-trained workforce.
  • Support talent acquisition, onboarding, and technical skills development.
  • Perform other duties as required.
