About The Position

The Production supervisor at CableMaster is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure productions schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements are met. This role leads and develops production employees, balances labor over multiple builds and changeovers, and ensures accurate documentation, materials, and equipment readiness. The Production Supervisor partners closely with Quality, Engineering, and Warehouse teams to drive efficiency, maintain compliance, support continuous improvement, and escalate operation risks as needed. Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years in supervisory role in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proven track record of achieving results through the growth and development of others.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products including Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to collect data, analyze and draw facts; make decision based on those facts.
  • Accepting this position requires candidates to complete and pass a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the daily and weekly production schedule.
  • Balance labor across multiple SKUs, builds and changeovers.
  • Ensure production work orders, drawing, routings and BOMs are correct and available before work starts.
  • Work with quality and engineering to develop and implement procedures / work instructions to ensure quality.
  • Enforce workmanship standards..
  • Ensure in-process inspections, final inspections and any testing are completed to customer expectations.
  • Directly supervise production employees.
  • Assign work based on skill level and certifications.
  • Train new hires and cross train existing employees.
  • Address performance and behavior issues promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe production floor.
  • Enforce safe practices and methods while utilizing equipment and tools.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure materials are available.
  • Communicate ECN (Engineering Change Notices) and drawing to the floor.
  • Own and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for all production equipment.
  • Coordinate with outside providers or vendors when help with repairs are needed.
  • Maintain basic PM records and ensure issues are documented and completed.
  • Participate in improvement initiatives and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain production records as required in business ERP system.
  • Communicate and escalate risks to VP of Operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
