Key Responsibilities Provides hiring, promotion and disciplinary action recommendations, as well as performance evaluation and feedback for direct reports. Coordinates and supervises the daily manufacturing operations performed in a shift or production line, ensuring volume, quality, safety and cost goals are met. Directs daily the activities of the production department to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality. Essential Responsibilities Performs monthly financial operating plans, ensuring labor productivity and operating expenses meet or exceed plans. Maintains production schedules and works with leads to plan and assign work. Collaborates with operations to ensure optimum daily productivity goals are met within customer and company deadlines for sales, on-time delivery, and quality. Establishes growth/improvement goals and objectives, along with all relevant key performance indicators. Ensure follow-through on action planning to meet established goals. Investigates, trouble-shoots and provides solutions to production problems. Work closely with plant manager and other functional groups (HR, Quality, Engineering) to achieve overall business objectives. Responsible for ensuring safety policies and procedures are being followed. Provides leadership and direction to associates of assigned department. Focuses on training and developing associates. Reviews associates performance, makes recommendations and works with local HR on recommending disciplinary actions. Performs other duties as assigned by management
