About The Position

Dover Precision Components is hiring a Production Planning Supervisor for our Cook Compression brand. We manufacture and deliver critical performance solutions for rotating and reciprocating machinery across several markets, including oil & gas. WHAT YOU’LL DO The Production Planning Supervisor oversees the development, preparation, and maintenance of production schedules. In this role, you will provide results-driven leadership in planning responsibilities with a focus on best practices, quality, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field preferred. In lieu of a degree, 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing supply chain considered.
  • 5+ years’ manufacturing environment supply chain experience to include production planning.
  • Metric driven with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9000 requirements.
  • Strong MS Excel abilities.
  • Strong ERP and technology skills overall.
  • Strong supervisory, leadership, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • End-to-end Supply Chain experience, including planning, procurement, and inventory optimization.
  • Experience within related industries of manufactured, engineered-to-order, components.
  • Syteline ERP experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge/experience.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement Planning and Scheduling KPIs and dashboards , leveraging metrics and other tools, to drive departmental performance
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of production plans to support customer demand and meet On Time Delivery goals.
  • Oversee the sequencing of jobs, processes and assignments to individual work centers while providing interface, in partnership with shop floor leadership, between shop floor and leadership.
  • Develop and Maintain the Master Production Schedule.
  • Define and implement the weekly Production Meeting by value stream.
  • Participate in the Sales and Operations review to align supply with demand.
  • Implement capacity planning by value stream, identify bottlenecks and schedule around planned downtime.
  • Establish and maintain all key planning fields in ERP (lead times, safety stock, days’ supply etc.).
  • Establish and run What-If scenarios for production plan impacts.
  • Implement Forecast and ensure production plan aligns with forecast accuracy.
  • Interact with production and sales personnel to update and advise of progress and new developments.
  • Deliver and foster continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility.
  • Collaborate with the Global Operational Excellence team in the development and implementation of global initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, implement cost-effective initiatives, and develop best practices for planning, scheduling, and material control.
  • Establish, update and implement policies, procedures and related work instructions.
  • Train, mentor, evaluate, and direct the daily activities of planners to ensure high-quality work and professional development.
  • Lead by example and motivate team to create a dynamic, empowering, and collaborative working environment.
