About The Position

As the Production Planning Manager, you will drive the execution of Rockwell Automation's North America master production schedule—aligning closely with S&OP outputs, optimizing capacity, and ensuring our manufacturing plans support customer needs, resource utilization, and inventory goals. In this highly visible, cross-functional role, you'll guide a team of master schedulers, collaborate with supply chain and plant leadership, and shape the processes that keep our global supply network performing at its best.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Years of Relevant Work Experience.

  • The ability to travel 10% of the time.

Nice To Haves

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Three or more years of experience in manufacturing scheduling, forecasting, or materials planning.
  • APICS CPIM certification.
  • SAP experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Experience leading work across multiple regions or functions to align schedules, capacity, and supply plans.
  • Ability to interpret data and apply basic statistical methods to support planning and scheduling decisions.
  • Proven skill managing several priorities at once and making timely decisions when information is incomplete.
  • Experience collaborating across teams and working with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven capability to develop talent and lead high‑performing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the North America Master Production Scheduling team and ensure alignment with S&OP priorities.
  • Develop and maintain the master production schedule and rough‑cut capacity plans for assigned work cells.
  • Partner with Demand Managers, Production Control, Materials, and plant leadership to coordinate accurate, capacity‑aligned manufacturing plans.
  • Oversee planning of manufacturing orders to match weekly S&OP targets and product mix requirements.
  • Support new product introductions and product phase‑out plans to minimize excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Monitor short‑ and long‑term capacity constraints and guide decisions to reduce past‑due orders and overtime.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain partners to drive continuous improvement in service levels, inventory, and productivity.
  • Provide monthly updated supply plans and forecast inputs across product families.
  • Track, analyze, and report key KPIs, recommending and implementing plant‑specific improvements.
  • Ensure master scheduling practices support plant financial goals and overall materials strategy.
  • Build strong cross‑functional relationships and lead consistent scheduling processes across global teams.
