About The Position

Summary/Objective: The Production Scheduler is responsible for scheduling the production of all products produced at the plant communicating material and working cross functionally. This position monitors production needs, issues and progress. The role will be in constant communication with vendors.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in system-based scheduling in a food manufacturing environment;
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree and/or certifications in related field preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems; or demonstrated ability to quickly build expertise in similar systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple priorities
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate (verbal/writing) effectively at all levels and with various stakeholders, internally and externally
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite with solid proficiency in Excel;
  • Effective math skills; ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using units of weight and volume measurements
  • Knowledge of warehouse and inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively utilizes systems and established processes to determine the master production schedule for the plant with consideration of forecast, inventories, material availability and other factors.
  • Schedules and organizes production runs and change overs according to food safety and allergen requirements, people scheduling needs and to maintain efficiencies.
  • Regularly monitors progress of production and reviews factors that affect schedules; making necessary modifications.
  • Communicates to operations and cross functionally; schedule, changes, materials orders and other needs to support the operation of the plant.
  • Works with finance, sales and R&D on trials, sales sample runs or other special projects.
  • Partners closely with procurement and quality teams to monitor and manage expiring ingredients and on hold items in an effective manner.
  • Contributes to written documentation of SOP and other critical processes.
  • Monitors inventories of materials and finished product; assists with the tempering process.
  • Adhere to all company policies and practices to help maintain a safe, food safe, efficient and respectful environment.
  • Collaboratively perform other duties as needed and directed to support the goals of the company.
