About The Position

Palmer-Donavin is seeking a Production Planner to support our Door Fabrication Division. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth, efficient production operations that align with customer demand and organizational goals. The Production Planner is responsible for scheduling and coordinating production activities, optimizing resource utilization, and helping maintain consistent, reliable service to our customers. This position directly contributes to on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, cost control, and continuous improvement within the facility.

Responsibilities

Coordinate Production Activities
Develop and manage production schedules that meet customer expectations while minimizing cost and maximizing labor and resource efficiency.
Serve as a Cross-Functional Liaison
Act as a primary connection between Sales, Production, Purchasing, and Quality to ensure alignment and timely communication.
Own the Ordering Process
Manage all order-related workflows, including lost orders, stopped orders, rush orders, large-order processing, and general order-status oversight.
Monitor and Report Performance
Track and report on-time delivery metrics and communicate accurate lead times and delivery dates to Sales and Purchasing.
Support Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to streamline operations, reduce waste, and improve responsiveness to changing customer and market needs.
Distribute Work Orders
Ensure production schedules and work orders are delivered to all relevant departments to support efficient execution.
