About The Position

Ichor Systems is seeking an experienced Production Planner / Master Scheduler to drive end-to-end production planning for our Sauk Rapids facility. Reporting to the Director of Production Planning, this role is responsible for balancing demand, capacity, and materials to ensure on-time delivery, optimal inventory levels, and efficient production flow. This is a highly cross-functional role partnering with operations, supply chain, sales, and customer service to anticipate constraints, resolve shortages, and maintain a forward-looking Master Production Schedule (MPS).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field
  • 6–8 years of production planning or scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong background in supply chain planning, inventory management, and capacity modeling
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated success improving planning processes, metrics, and delivery performance
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to align demand, capacity, and material availability
  • Manage daily production planning activities and optimize order release strategies (MRP, Kanban, etc.)
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to labor, material shortages, or capacity constraints
  • Provide clear ship dates and status updates to customer service and internal stakeholders
  • Perform supply-demand and scenario analysis to support forecast accuracy and decision-making
  • Monitor and optimize key metrics such as on-time delivery, lead time attainment, fill rate, and weeks of supply
  • Balance inventory and delivery trade-offs to meet customer commitments and financial targets
  • Coordinate inventory builds and participate in physical inventory processes
  • Serve as the primary planning liaison across sales, operations, manufacturing, and customer service
  • Lead forecast and planning reviews with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Communicate capacity constraints, risks, and recovery plans to leadership
  • Partner with production supervisors to prioritize work and improve schedule adherence
  • Develop and maintain planning dashboards, WIP reporting, and performance analytics
  • Investigate production variances and drive corrective actions
  • Support continuous improvement of planning processes, systems, and tools
