What Drives Success Under general supervision, sets-up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. The primary responsibility is to set-up/changeover specified Press equipment and verify set-up through first piece inspection so that flow of work is continual thereby increasing department efficiency. In this position you will support in leading the team to meet objectives in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost are achieved daily. You would be operating heavy machinery (brake press).

Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to stand 100% of the scheduled workday.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds frequently.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, twist and reach in all directions frequently and without difficulty.

Responsibilities

  • May Set-up and operate machinery in an effective and efficient manner.
  • May Changeover equipment to produce different parts and trouble shoot when necessary.
  • Read and understand an engineered part drawing and schedule.
  • Use measuring tools such as a tape measure, caliper, protractor, gages, etc.
  • Understand and perform 1 st piece inspection process and other prescribed quality checks; must troubleshoot and make adjustments when necessary.
  • Perform minor preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Verify ‘Acceptable’ work order lots are complete.
  • May Assist in training of new operators.
  • Communicate with group leads and supervisors regarding any matters that may hinder production or affect quality.
  • Maintain high standards of quality in every task.
  • Follow the directions of group leads and supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Maintain good interpersonal skills.
  • Wear required safety equipment and protective clothing and observe safety practices at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned by the department.
  • Able to pass Fork-lift certification requirements- if needed.
  • Able to pass Die Mover certification requirements- if needed.
  • Able to pass 10Ton Crane certification requirements- if needed.
