Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, relevant industry experience.
  • Proven track record of results in plant supervision.
  • Pattern of initiative and leadership.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and project management skills.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises team leaders, ensuring the production of safe and wholesome products across various departments.
  • Coordinates with other departments within the plant i.e., mechanical, industrial engineering, quality control, cost accounting etc., ensuring best practice is followed and goals are being met as per company specifications.
  • Trains and assists in matters concerning food safety by enforcing HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), TQC (Total Quality Control), and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice).
  • Trains and assists in matters concerning personal safety by enforcing our safety program and being an active member of the night safety committee.
  • Works closely with all areas to improve the bottom line, continuously looking for ways to create efficiencies in the areas of yield, supply utilization, and giveaway.
  • Monitors adherence to strict quality standards. Inspects, reports, and provides timely resolution of problems/variations.
  • Manages the smooth flow of production. Actively participates in daily production meetings that address production scheduling, product quality, yields, work-in-progress (WIP) inventory, material yields, and downtime.
  • Directly monitors compliance with applicable Federal, State, local, and company regulations, policies and procedures, including compliance with established standards involving sanitation, good manufacturing practices, housekeeping, safety programs, and HACCP programs.
  • Prepares and/or monitors and files required production and quality reports, sanitation records, accident reports, employee timecards, and related reports.
  • Monitors that all plant employees are trained, understand, and follow safety training and food safety policies and procedures.
  • Manages safety incidents. Develops and implements proactive preventative solutions.
  • Directly monitors worker engagement, morale, and productivity. Responds to worker needs, complaints, and inquiries. Implements as needed improvements to communications, recruitment, and hiring processes, performance reviews, ongoing training and development programs. Monitors fair/equitable pay practices.
  • Trains, mentors, coaches, and formally evaluates team leaders within their area.
  • Completes administrative duties and projects.
