About The Position

JBS is seeking an hourly Production Lead for the 1st shift. The position starts at $24 per hour. JBS USA is a leading global provider of diversified, high-quality food products, including a portfolio of well-recognized brands and innovative, easy-to-use food solutions. The company processes, prepares, packages, and delivers fresh and value-added premium meat, poultry, and retail-ready food products for customers in approximately 100 countries on six continents. The Production Lead will be responsible for leading a team of hourly team members to achieve business results, coordinating activities with various departments, supporting team members on the production floor, and maintaining an engaged and team-oriented workforce. This role also involves providing support to company policies and procedures, promoting cooperation, providing training, monitoring and enforcing adherence to GMPs and specifications, and maintaining high levels of sanitation, housekeeping, and product quality.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazarded Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) programs.
  • Must be able to motivate a diverse workforce and lead by example.
  • Must be able to coach, train, and take corrective action, including discipline, when appropriate.
  • Must demonstrate critical thinking skills and possess a problem-solving mentality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good math skills.

Nice To Haves

  • SQF, GMP, and HACCP certification a plus.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leading a team of hourly team members to achieve business results.
  • Achieves targets in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Coordinates activities with production, procurement, maintenance, warehouse, and quality departments to achieve and sustain results.
  • Supports team members by maintaining a visible presence on the production floor.
  • Maintains an engaged and team-oriented workforce.
  • Creates an environment that expresses concern and consistency toward all team members.
  • Promotes cooperation and dedication to superior workmanship among all team members.
  • Provides training for team members on company policies, rules, regulations and job specific duties and responsibilities.
  • Monitors and enforces adherence to GMP’s and specifications.
  • Maintains high levels of sanitation, housekeeping and product quality.
  • Follow daily work schedule and reports variances.
  • Encourages best use of energy and resources with minimal waste.
  • May assume other duties as assigned.
