About The Position

The Production Lead is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure working environment in compliance with all safety, sanitary, and processing regulations. This person is responsible to implement processes that improve productivity, ensure customer satisfaction and meet profitability objectives. This person will lead employees, monitor performance, and assist in the training of personnel. This position will be on 2nd shift.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a food manufacturing facility.
  • 1 year experience leading a team or equivalent leadership training.
  • Communication skills are a must. Ability to communicate (verbal/writing) effectively at all levels with all people.
  • Ability to multi-task while remaining clam and working effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using units of weight and volume measurements.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to self-manage, take initiative and be results oriented; as a leader on an off-shift, be able to make decisions independently and know when to call others for additional support
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including late nights and/or weekends as needed
  • Positive attitude; cheer leader for our people, the team, culture, company and brands

Responsibilities

  • Direct activities of production employees in assigned areas to ensure department production goals are met.
  • Oversees production employees to ensure compliance with lunches, breaks and other mandatory labor compliance.
  • Ensure line operations meet established standards, specifications, efficiency and quality requirements to affect favorable production results.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other production front line leaders and cross-functional teams on a regular basis concerning production goals and all operation activity.
  • Foster team building & collaboration across functional areas at all levels.
  • With the assistance of Production Superintendents, responsible for coaching, counseling and training hourly associates to foster a high performance work team.
  • Ensure food safety and quality through visual inspection of the finished product.
  • Able to follow color code to prevent cross contamination.
  • Responsible for programing printer ensuring the proper labeling of finished product to ensure traceability.
  • Responsible for monitoring the equipment and informing machine operators of problems.
  • Responsible for monitoring metal detector and other food safety systems, communicating problems to QA or Production Manager.
  • Must follow all safety rules, GMPs and company guidelines.
  • Work in a fast pace, repetitive environment. Must be able to package product at the speed the line equipment is running.
  • Work with minimal supervision and be self-motivated.
  • Analyze production documentation and assign operators to follow up with concerns.
  • Follow established SOP’s and verbal work instructions; participate in a safe and respectful work environment.
  • Maintain food safety and food quality through completing job task and maintaining work areas in a sanitary manner.
  • Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
  • Participate in food safety training.
  • Collaboratively perform other duties as needed and directed to support the goals of the company.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English effectively.
