The Production Intern will serve as an integral member of the Production team with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following: Support the lead engineer in evaluating machine‑learning datasets, analyzing material‑testing data, compiling Plug and Abandonment workover data, and identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements or cost savings Collect and analyze data associated with mechanical integrity testing and present changes to BMPs to enhance efficiency and safety Evaluate opportunities to improve GAPL systems and partner with technical staff on future gas lift designs for various operating areas Assist in coordinating and overseeing the pull of cap strings and installation of production tubing Take part in field tours and audits for field operations Assist lead engineer in developing and monitoring asset tracking databases Work with lead engineer on single pane of glass dashboards to highlight production differences from forecast and potential equipment vulnerabilities Make suggestions for equipment improvement and testing standards Update BMPs and SOPs from field audits and assist operations with developing the Learning Management System Comply with Seneca’s EHSQ policies, standards and procedures and demonstrate active and regular involvement in EHSQ programs

Requirements

  • Current Junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field
  • Solid understanding of core engineering principles required
  • Familiarity with geologic concepts
  • Basic understanding of oil and gas extraction processes required
  • Microsoft proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) required
  • Ability to work well in a group environment
  • Willingness to learn and contribute
  • Ability to travel to off‑site locations as needed
  • The successful candidate must be authorized to work in United States of America.

Nice To Haves

  • Coding experience in Matlab, Python, PBI preferred

Responsibilities
