About The Position

CalPortland is seeking a summer intern for the Mojave cement plant. This internship is ideal for a student interested in Chemical Engineering. The intern will have the opportunity to work in the production department which is responsible for the production of clinker and cement. The company also has a variety of voluntary benefits for employees to choose from.Compensation$23.00-$27.00/hr Responsibilities Assist in Gyp/Urea testing and record-keeping Assist in monthly Process Performance report data gathering Assist Automation team as required Assist in coal mine audit Complete Safety and MSHA training and any other site/job specific required training Carry-out and practice all Safety training and Company policies in the CalPortland workplace Additional work with other engineering disciplines Assist in routine housekeeping and maintenance of the facilities Learn about other CalPortland departments and interface as required Attend summer intern event at corporate headquarters in Las Vegas, NV Perform plant tasks as assigned EducationCurrently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering

Requirements

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Good attendance and punctual
Ability to work a flexible schedule
Ability to work independently and in a team setting
Must possess a valid driver's license, insurance and be insurable to drive company vehicles

Nice To Haves

Experience with equipment management software
Prior experience or internship in the construction or building material

Responsibilities
