About The Position

We're currently seeking candidates for the position of Production Engineer in our Bala Cynwyd, PA (Philadelphia area) office. The Production Engineer serves as a member of a collaborative global Operations & Maintenance team, primarily supporting Waga Energy’s US subsidiary, while occasionally supporting operations in France, Canada, and Brazil. The Production Engineer is responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and performance of Waga Energy’s WAGABOX® landfill gas upgrading units. Primary responsibilities include remotely operating units, monitoring unit performance, responding to deviations, diagnosing issues, and collaborating with on-site technicians to maintain high performance standards and maximizing unit uptime and availability. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Performance Troubleshooting & Corrective Action Planning: Diagnosing unit performance issues, equipment failures, and all other operational malfunctions and coordinating with on-site technicians to implement corrective actions. Root Cause Analysis: Analyzing data from remote supervision tools to determine the causes of failures and malfunctions and applying a methodical approach to identifying root causes. Continuous Improvement: Consistently prioritizing process optimization/improvement and participating in ongoing improvement initiatives to enhance unit performance. Reporting and Documentation: Maintaining and updating various tracking tools (CMMS, on-call logs, etc.) to ensure accurate records of unit performance. On-Site Intervention: Deploying to WAGABOX® unit locations across the US to intervene on-site as needed. Safety Compliance: Maintaining a continuous focus on safety, ensuring all activities comply with safety protocols and all applicable regulations and industry standards. On-Call Duty: Occasionally participating in a rotating on-call site work schedule as needed.

Requirements

  • Technical certification, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree in engineering technology, industrial technology, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience remotely operating and monitoring gas plants or similar industrial systems.
  • Strong knowledge of process control systems, SCADA, and CMMS software.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and system malfunctions.
  • Competency in data analysis and performance monitoring.
  • Strong understanding of process engineering principles and their application in industrial plant operations.
  • Familiarity with the design, installation, and maintenance of piping systems in industrial facilities.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills including the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment and effectively build and maintain coworker, client, and vendor/subcontractor relationships.
  • The ability to accommodate +/- 25% domestic (US) travel time (including overnight stays) is required.
  • Some international travel may also be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with landfill gas or renewable natural gas (RNG) operations is a plus.
  • French, Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills are a plus but are not required.
