About The Position

The Production Coordinator provides critical administrative support to facilitate daily work in an HC3 print production facility. This role oversees and prioritizes workflow to ensure production activities run as efficiently as possible, output is accurate, and documents are delivered on time to customers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Expert level competency in operating either print or insertion equipment and at least 2 other functions (e.g., bindery, handwork)
  • Intermediate level or higher competency in operating all types of production equipment
  • Experience operating a pallet jack or similar equipment
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Familiarity with Google Suite
  • Able to set the best possible example and help raise expectations for other staff
  • Experienced with all types of equipment operation, cleaning, and maintenance
  • Show initiative in proactively learning and improving processes
  • Attentive to the skill level and performance of other staff members
  • Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment
  • Able to effectively communicate and collaborate with direct reports, coworkers, and other teams
  • Able to operate a pallet jack to move pallets weighing up to 1,000 lbs.
  • Able to maneuver, roll, and move paper rolls weighing up to 1,000 lbs. by hand
  • Able to move rolling carts containing cartons of printed documents weighing up 600 lbs.
  • Able to lift and move cartons of printed documents weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Able to lift and move USPS pallets weighing up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the Facility Manager at shift start to plan and optimize the flow of work during the shift.
  • Print and distribute work orders to all workstations to ensure staff understands priorities and meets delivery commitments.
  • Place problem jobs on hold to address discrepancies and issues that cannot be independently resolved.
  • Report software, equipment, or personnel issues that occur during the shift and log IT tickets or equipment service calls as needed.
  • Assist equipment operators as needed to resolve mechanical issues or make minor machine adjustments.
  • Review Past Mail Report for potential missed same day jobs.
  • Communicate regularly with the Facility Manager, upper management, and other HC3 staff as needed.
  • Operate all types of production equipment at an intermediate level or higher competency as needed during high volume periods or to fill in for absent employees.
  • Mentor, train, and cross-train equipment operators during low volume periods so that sufficient staff will be available to operate all types of equipment during high volume periods.
  • Ensure all staff can perform Quality Control (QC) inspections.
  • Ensure daily mail pickups occur and report any issues.
  • Mentor and train other equipment operators regularly.
  • Maintain familiarity with and look for ways to continuously improve production processes.
  • Restock supplies as needed for the next shift.
