Production Coordinator (On-Call)
About The Position
Reporting to the Assistant Director, DHKT Production, the Production Coordinator is responsible for implementing and maintaining technical supervision and production management during events at the David H. Koch Theater. This work will primarily consist of collaborating with key stakeholders during the coverage of the event timeline (i.e., load-in / main event / load-out), providing production oversight as required, helping to support the objectives established by the Assistant Director, DHKT Production, actively adapting practices to balance client / guest primacy, event and venue operations, and institutional mission. This is an hourly, on-call position that plays a vital role in implementing strategy and logistics across the event operatives, supporting the event leads, and spearheading initiatives to maintain the venue’s overall engagement.
Requirements
- Requires a high school diploma or GED
- At least 2-5 years of verifiable, professional technical and production management experience
- Knowledge of rigging, carpentry, theatrical lighting, theatrical systems, lifts, and temporary structures
- Familiarity with the work and techniques of construction and trade unions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to communicate clearly and consistently with clients and colleagues both verbally and in writing
Responsibilities
- Provide onsite production support for load ins, load outs, and events.
- Coordinate with the Assistant Director of Production and Technical Director on schedule and labor impacts as the day develops.
- Review and supervise implementation of stage plans, plots, production schedules, and equipment lists.
- Communicate event needs and updates with DHKT staff via Teams.
- Direct and supervise the DHKT IATSE crew(s) and ensure adherence to all work rules and house policies.
- Liaise with the client’s production and vendor teams for any event needs as they arise.
- Collaborate with FOH / Venue Operations team for any security or porter needs.
