About The Position

The Production Coordinator would report directly to the Producer supervising the management of all front end departments for production. Departments include Production, Story, Script, Editorial and Visual Development. This role supports a short film production with a defined timeline. The Production Coordinator will be the primary production team member on the project alongside the Producers, and will work closely with them to coordinate across departments, create and maintain tracking documents, and support artist workflows. This position is well-suited for someone who likes to wear many hats and is looking for a challenge. Sony Pictures Animation is a pre-production animation studio based in Los Angeles, California, creating both feature animation and animated series with artists from around the world. Requirements

  • Prior experience on an animated feature is preferred
  • Previous animation office or project experience
  • Highly organized, resourceful and diligent with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work well in a fast paced department
  • Able to work independently and set appropriate priorities
  • Able to receive feedback while also demonstrating initiative when appropriate
  • Able to maintain a high level of discretion
  • Comfortability with Mac/PC operating systems, Photoshop, Word, Excel and Gmail

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule production meetings
  • Attend production meetings and take notes
  • Accurate data entry in production tracking software
  • Prepare binders for voice recordings and take notes in sessions if needed
  • Maintain organized production and artwork files within existing directory structures
  • Coordinate travel for production
  • Handle and complete expense reports
  • Order office supplies for the department
  • Keep supervisors advised by providing accurate and timely information
  • Direct people both internally and externally to the correct department to get the information that is needed
  • Organize paperwork that is received so that it is easily retrievable
  • Build trusting and open relationships with productions
