About The Position

The Production Controller supports operational and financial performance by managing job cost accounting, production activity controls, and accounts receivable processes. This role works closely with operations and production leadership to ensure accurate revenue recognition, cost control, contract compliance, and timely financial reporting across all projects and branches. This position will have a direct report who assists with Accounts Payable and front office operations.

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail with accurate data entry skills
• Proficient in spreadsheets, accounting systems, and operational software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work 40 hours per week
• Professional demeanor when representing the company internally and externally
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience with job cost or production accounting
• Experience supervising or mentoring support staff
• Accounts receivable and/or accounts payable experience
• Experience with Aspire or similar operational software

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate alignment and recognition of revenue and costs
• Track and analyze job profitability to improve efficiency and margins
• Manage ticket processing to ensure proper revenue and cost recording
• Ensure contracts are renewed accurately and on time
• Facilitate monthly close processes
• Prepare and review monthly job cost reports
• Monitor project budgets and analyze variances
• Maintain financial scorecards for branches and departments
• Oversee purchase order processing in Aspire for direct job costs
• Audit financial systems and correct discrepancies
• Manage accounts receivable and assist with collections to improve cash flow
• Provide oversight and direction to a direct report supporting Accounts Payable and front office operations
• Partner with managers and leadership on financial performance and reporting
• Perform other accounting and production-related duties as assigned
