The Buyer is responsible for procuring tools and equipment for the company, involving activities like sourcing suppliers, negotiating prices and terms, managing inventory, and collaborating with internal departments to meet production needs. Key responsibilities include evaluating suppliers based on quality and cost, ensuring timely delivery of goods, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and monitoring market trends. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Research, identify, and evaluate potential suppliers for tooling and equipment. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms to achieve favorable outcomes. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. Monitor supplier performance, quality, and delivery. Place purchase orders and manage the entire procurement process. Monitor tooling and raw material inventory levels and ensure availability. Collaborate with internal teams to forecast needs and prevent shortages. Ensure timely delivery of goods to support production schedules. Work closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to align procurement with operational goals. Analyze procurement data to identify cost savings and process improvements. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Stay up to date with industry trends and market developments. Evaluate suppliers based on quality and cost, ensuring timely delivery of goods, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and monitoring market trends. Places and manages purchases orders in accordance with MRP, Kanban signals, production plan goals and related planning data. Works closely with manufacturing and suppliers to prioritize, expedite and de-expedite work orders and purchase orders based on material availability, department resources, changing requirements and customer service requirements. Manage the assigned value streams including backorder reduction and coordinating activities with other departments. Participates in the new product development process and supports supply chain planning activities at the new product team level. Manage, monitor and update Kanbans for assigned value streams and production. Have strong working knowledge and apply the principles of planning/pull system. Have an understanding of lean manufacturing. Manage and maintain inventory levels to the company goals. Monitors and understands key planning parameters such as safety stocks, buffer stocks and lot sizes. Works closely with vendors to manage and control product lines, to prioritize, expedite and assure enough material supply to support customer demand. This position is an on-site job, 5 days a week
