About The Position

This role combines purchasing and production planning responsibilities to ensure timely procurement of materials and efficient scheduling of production activities. The Buyer/Planner will manage assigned commodities, maintain accurate inventory levels, and develop executable production schedules that support company objectives.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of purchasing and/or production planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with FDA Quality System Requirements, cGMP, and ISO standards.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Lift up to 25 pounds and carry short distances.
  • Perform repetitive hand motions and keyboarding for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory of assigned commodities and forecast demand using MRP and usage history.
  • Execute procurement decisions to support production schedules while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain ERP data integrity and lead improvements in procurement processes.
  • Support primary Planner role to generate and maintain executable production schedules aligned with company goals.
  • Coordinate work order packets and monitor schedule status; communicate impacts to delivery dates.
  • Identify and resolve material, machine, and manpower constraints affecting production.
  • Serve as a key communicator between critical internal stakeholders re: production status vs order backlog.
