Requirements

  • Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Typically requires 2 years of related experience.
  • Laboratory Testing Methods - Understanding of chemical, physical, and analytical testing techniques such as titration, chromatography, and spectroscopy.
  • Safety and Compliance Standards - Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols, chemical handling procedures, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO standards).
  • Instrumentation and Equipment - Familiarity with operation, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory instruments such as balances, pH meters, HPLC, and spectrophotometers.
  • Quality Control Principles - Knowledge of quality assurance practices, data integrity standards, and documentation requirements.
  • Material Properties and Processes - Understanding of raw material characteristics, production processes, and their impact on laboratory testing outcomes.
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation - Ability to analyze test results, identify trends, and interpret findings for process improvement.
  • Technical Troubleshooting - Skill in diagnosing and resolving issues with laboratory equipment and testing procedures.
  • Report Preparation and Documentation - Proficiency in compiling accurate test reports, maintaining logs, and ensuring compliance with documentation standards.
  • Attention to Detail - Ability to perform precise measurements and maintain accuracy in testing and data recording.
  • Collaboration and Communication - Ability to work effectively with engineers, scientists, and production teams, and communicate technical information clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts standard analytical tests such as titrations, viscosity measurements, and thermal analysis.
  • Calibrates and verifies performance of laboratory instruments including spectrophotometers and ovens.
  • Prepares reagents and solutions following precise formulations for testing protocols.
  • Troubleshoots minor equipment issues and documents corrective actions.
  • Compiles test data into structured reports for review by senior staff.
  • Ensures compliance with internal quality control procedures during sample processing.
  • Coordinates sample tracking and chain-of-custody documentation for multiple projects.
  • Communicates test progress and findings clearly to engineers and supervisors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
