About The Position

In the Global Products Group, we are dedicated to excellence in the design and engineering of Lam’s etch and deposition products. We drive innovation to ensure our cutting-edge solutions are helping to solve the biggest challenges in the semiconductor industry. You will be part of the Product Option Architecture (POA) team. POA is an organizational representation of the current and future products and options that Lam Research sells to our customers. The Product Structure Engineering team is one part of the POA team, and it manages the connection between the available options in the POA and the Bill of Material (BOM). This ensures that the correct material is driven in MRP to support customer-selected configurations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 6 years with a Master’s degree, or 3 years with a PhD, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to successfully interact with and coordinate across diverse parts and levels of the organization, including both technical and non-technical roles, managers, and individual contributors.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of BOM structures and the engineering change process.
  • Experience working with an MRP system.
  • Computer literate, including proficiency with Windows, the Microsoft 365 suite, MS Teams, and email.
  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Experience with hardware configuration/product management.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Experience with a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor capital equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the BOM supports all available options in the POA, requiring logical thinking to understand the relationships between POA options and BOM items.
  • Works with cross-functional teams (CFTs), consisting of the Product Manager, Project Manager, and Design Engineers, to determine additions or changes to available options and execute the plan based on established milestones.
  • Reviews engineering change orders (ECOs) for accuracy.
  • Sets effectivity dates on the ECOs.
  • Implements ECO changes in the POA system.
  • Ensures accuracy of the modeling and programming against the request.
  • Works with others to ensure BOM accuracy across various configurations before options are made available to customers.
  • Works with business partners to correct errors, including investigation of root cause and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Initiates and participates in continuous improvement projects (CIPs) to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
  • Provides training support for new business partners on the POA process, roles, and responsibilities.
