About The Position
WCF is an A Rated insurance carrier that is growing in the western U.S. and is looking for an applicant that wants to join a company with a great culture, competitive pay, and outstanding benefits. The product development team specifically works on commercial insurance lines such as property, liability, and umbrella and has an immediate opening for someone who can demonstrate the WCF values to join their team as a full-time Product Specialist . This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Director of Product Development. The person in this position works out of WCF's Sandy, Utah headquarters or one of the regional offices located in Roseville, CA; Boise, ID; or Denver, CO. Hybrid (office/home) or remote option is available. This posting is open to internal and external candidates.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, insurance, math, risk management, or a similar field of study.
- Two to four years of experience in commercial insurance, preferably in product development or underwriting support.
- Strong understanding of rating algorithms, policy forms, and coverage structures.
- Experience with policy administration systems and insurance documentation.
- Outstanding presentation and communication skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent research and analytical and ability to synthesize market data into actionable insights.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation capabilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively across functional departments.
- An internal candidate should have six months in their current position.
- Candidates should have acceptable job performance and a good attendance record in their current position and must notify their current supervisor that they have applied for the position.

Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and build-out of new and enhanced insurance products.
- Interpret and document rating algorithms and coverage language for implementation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate translation of product requirements into system configurations.
- Support the preparation of policy forms, endorsements, and technical specifications.
- Conduct competitive analysis and market research to inform product positioning and design.
- Benchmark coverage offerings, pricing structures, and underwriting guidelines.
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory developments impacting product design.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation of product requirements, rating logic, and coverage specifications.
- Assist in the creation of business requirement documents (BRDs), user stories, and test cases.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and quality assurance efforts during product rollouts.
