This Position reports to: Head of Product Management In this role, you will supports the Drives Product Management in optimizing the portfolio performance and return on investment. Acts as a middle-end function, connecting our frontend organization with our backend related to our drives portfolio. Heavily engages and supports Sales to reach our business line and division targets. Ensures that ABB has a full understanding of market requirements, transforming those requirements into offering specifications and development activities. Performs various offering lifecycle activities supporting the development, launch, governance, promotion, pricing, and profitability of the drives portfolio. The work model for the role is: Hybrid ; New Berlin, WI or Houston, TX This role is contributing to the Motion High Power Division.

Requirements

  • Bachelor engineering degree, preferred electrical or electronics with 5 years of experience
  • Must have experience with electrical engineering variable speed drives and/or electrical motors
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred electrical equipment knowledge like switchgear or control systems
  • Experience with SAP, PowerBI, PowerAutomate and Microsoft tools, specially Excel, nice to have.

Responsibilities

  • Owns knowledge of the MOHP Drives Portfolio and its capabilities; Primary focus on MV Air-cooled portfolio; Deep understanding of ACS880 platform; Support capabilities for DC Drives and MV High Power Drives
  • Supports product managers with tactical activities around the different product families.
  • Keeps sales and sales support team, and channels informed on topics related to the offering, such as new releases, market data, competitors, quality topics, configuration, trends, and limitations.
  • Supports the Product Management team in creating business case for development projects or offering transfers.
  • Collaborates with Marcom on communication materials, including support for new product releases and tools support the business and the Sales organization.
  • Clarifies offering positioning within the portfolio, with defined values per product family to address different channel, industry or application needs.
  • Follows major warranty cases and quality cost drivers for the assigned offering and ensures quick resolution.
  • Provides technical product sales support when needed, participates in customer meetings, and attends trade shows on request.
  • Ensures product training materials is up to date and well understood by the training facilitator from MOSE to provide training to both internal (Sales/Engineering/Service) and external customers (ChP/OEMs/Sis).
  • Provides product training to new and existing team members as well as customers.
  • Provides product tools/configurator training to new and existing team members as well as customers.
  • Executes local governances over price tables for the MOHP drives portfolio. Prepares and maintains market pricing analysis.
  • Prepares and maintains various analysis on Product G2Market, product, and competitors.
  • Proposes new offering development or enhancements to offer suitable and unique solutions to meet the customer needs.
