About The Position

The Product Regulatory & Compliance Specialist is responsible for managing product regulatory requirements, maintaining organizational policy compliance, and providing support to the Legal team. This role ensures accurate data collection, monitors evolving federal and state regulations, and coordinates compliance activities across multiple business units. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage cross functional relationships and project timelines, and a proactive approach to regulatory and policy oversight. Essential Job Functions Product Regulations Collect regulatory data using supplier surveys, the product team, and other internal/external sources.Consolidate data from numerous business units for tracking and reporting.Prepare and submit required regulatory reports to agencies and customers.Follow up with regulatory agencies and customers to ensure compliance documentation is complete.Support and advise product teams with product, packaging, and labeling changes resulting from regulatory requirements.Monitor and communicate changes across state and federal regulatory landscapes.Maintain awareness of emerging regulatory requirements, including: Extended Producer Responsibility regulations (EPR) PFAS and forever-chemical regulationsCalifornia Proposition 65 CPSC Reese’s Law Truth in Recycling regulationsPlush Toy and other specific product registrations Policy Compliance Maintain centralized access to Hillman corporate policies.Manage and update Hillman Policies on a regular schedule.Identify and address gaps in data and information needed for policy compliance.Work through challenges related to data accessibility and cross-functional coordination.Ensure clarity and ownership of all policies across the organization. Legal Team Support Assist with discovery and subpoena review processes.Support garnishment processing.Coordinate corporate compliance as it relates to corporate responsibility initiatives.Manage annual updates related to Enterprise Risk Management. Requirements

  • 4-year degree or other certification (paralegal, etc.) with proven experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in regulatory compliance, product compliance, legal operations, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of state and federal regulatory environments.
  • High proficiency with data collection, tracking, and reporting.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to work cross functionally and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information discreetly.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-changing regulatory environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in corporate policy management preferred.
  • Knowledge of product regulatory frameworks such as EPR, PFAS, Prop 65, and CPSC rules preferred.
