About The Position

Our TPM (Technical Program Management) team owns the frameworks and programs driving how our Engineering, Product, Design, and Analytics (EPDA) organization plans, prioritizes, and executes. You will join us as our first Operations hire, with a distinct and complementary mandate. As our Product Operations Lead, you will own the operational programs that keep EPDA running with clarity and speed, from resource planning to vendor management, and will serve as the connective tissue between our technical organization and the corporate functions it depends on (e.g. Finance, Legal, Recruiting, IT). You will bring a builder's instinct to all of it, leveraging AI and intelligent systems to design smarter solutions, remove obstacles, and make the organization run faster. Over time, you will take on a central role in how Scribd plans and budgets at the company level. This is a broad scope, an ambitious mandate, and an opportunity to meaningfully shape how a large technical organization runs.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in business operations, technical program management, strategy, or an equivalent role at a technology company.
  • A track record of owning complex, cross-functional operational initiatives end-to-end, from ambiguous starting point to measurable outcome.
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools and a history of building internal tools or AI-powered solutions that solved real problems for real users. Shipped and imperfect beats polished and theoretical.
  • Strong financial and analytical literacy: comfortable working with budgets, contracts, resource data, and making sense of ambiguous inputs.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders without formal authority, including VPs and C-suite.
  • Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to make complex operational realities feel clear to any audience.

Nice To Haves

  • A genuine passion for books, reading, and the written word is a major plus. You will fit right in.
  • You have worked at the intersection of operations and engineering, whether as an engineer with strategic tendencies, a PM who found a home in ops, or a biz ops practitioner who taught themselves to build.
  • You have experience with vendor management, procurement, or financial operations in a technical organization.
  • You have contributed to or led company-wide planning processes.

Responsibilities

  • Resource planning and analysis: Own and maintain the systems and data that inform how our Engineering, Product, Design, and Analytics organization allocates its people and capacity, ensuring leaders always have the visibility they need to make fast, informed prioritization decisions.
  • Vendor lifecycle management: Build and run a formal vendor management program from the ground up, establishing clear policies for intake, onboarding, renewals, and offboarding, and creating the cross-functional visibility that allows us to make smarter, faster vendor decisions.
  • Operational tooling and AI: Identify where AI, automation, and intelligent systems can reduce the manual coordination burden on our teams and leaders. Then build them. You will not just recommend solutions, you will ship them.
  • G&A partnerships: Serve as the primary interface between EPDA and corporate functions like Finance, Legal, IT, HR, and Recruiting. You will align on priorities, advocate for EPDA's needs, and create the feedback loops that allow both sides to move faster and make better decisions together.
  • Special projects: Lead complex, cross-functional operational initiatives that fall outside the scope of any single team, such as refining the process by which Scribd captures R&D tax credits in partnership with Accounting.
  • Company planning: Over time, you will take on a central role in Scribd's company-wide planning and budgeting processes, helping design the artifacts, guidance, and financial frameworks that shape how the entire company sets direction each year.
  • Evolve how we work: Continuously identify opportunities to reduce operational overhead and remove what no longer earns its place. Propose success metrics for yourself and your programs, and proactively flag when those metrics are at risk.
