About The Position

At Render, we’re building the modern cloud platform for developers creating AI-native, full-stack, multi-service applications. Our mission is to eliminate the tradeoff between the power of hyperscalers and the simplicity of developer-friendly platforms—so teams can ship fast, scale reliably, and focus on their product, not infrastructure. Unlike complex hyperscalers or ephemeral edge/serverless solutions, Render offers a developer-first experience with persistent compute, dynamic autoscaling, built-in orchestration, and observability, allowing teams to launch, scale, and manage real-world applications without writing infrastructure code or managing servers. Whether you're building LLM-powered applications, scalable SaaS products, or async processing pipelines, Render empowers teams to move fast and scale confidently from MVP to millions of users. Our platform is trusted by over 4.5 million developers worldwide and continues to grow rapidly. In February 2026, we raised an additional $100M in Series C financing, bringing our total funding to $257M, to accelerate our vision of making cloud infrastructure both powerful and intuitive—designed for the speed of modern AI development. We’re a diverse and talented team that values craft, velocity, and user experience. If you’re excited to help shape the future of the intelligent cloud and empower developers everywhere, we’d love to hear from you. We’re looking for an experienced Product Manager to own security and trust as a product domain at Render, spanning identity and access management (IAM), compliance, runtime security, supply chain security, and secure AI enablement. You'll define and ship the trust infrastructure that teams scaling in production need to adopt Render with confidence, and go further: build security capabilities that differentiate Render and create new revenue opportunities. Render is growing fast, and increasingly the teams adopting us are organizations with the security and compliance expectations that come with running production workloads at scale. They need governance controls to get through procurement, but that's just the starting point. As customers scale, they need confidence that their platform is secure end to end, from supply chain integrity at build time to runtime protection in production to safe governance of agent-driven workflows. Beyond listening to customers and building the foundational governance layer on top of Render's current products, you will develop and own the full security product strategy: understand what customers need to trust Render, what they'd pay for beyond the core platform, and where security capabilities become a competitive advantage. You'll sit at the intersection of Render's Expansion team and Security team, partnering closely with both to build and execute the roadmap. You'll work with engineering, GTM, and leadership across both organizations. Everything you ship should meet the needs of security-conscious teams without sacrificing the intuitive developer experience Render is known for. We believe security features can be well-crafted, developer-friendly, and powerful all at once, and we're looking for a product builder who shares that conviction.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management, with significant exposure to security, identity, compliance, or infrastructure products.
  • Strong ability to think of security as a product domain, including strategy, segmentation, and monetization—not just a compliance requirement.
  • Deep familiarity with IAM concepts (SSO/SAML, SCIM, RBAC, OAuth) and working knowledge of compliance frameworks (SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR), including experience navigating security reviews and procurement processes.
  • Experience with at least one of the following: runtime security, supply chain security, or secure AI/agent governance.
  • Proven track record of turning ambiguous, cross-functional problem spaces into clear product strategies with measurable outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate between security/compliance concepts and developer/product needs.
  • Strong product intuition and passion for developer tools, with an understanding of how security features should feel for both administrators and developers.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with identity providers such as Okta, Azure AD, or Google Workspace.
  • Previous experience at a PaaS, IaaS, or developer platform company (e.g., Heroku, Cloudflare, Vercel, AWS, GCP).
  • Background in security engineering, infrastructure engineering, or governance, risk, and compliance (GRC).
  • Experience building or managing products for regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, fintech, government).
  • Familiarity with SIEM or log aggregation platforms and how customers consume audit data.

Responsibilities

  • Own the security product strategy at Render, defining which capabilities belong in the core platform versus add-on products, and how they evolve over time.
  • Define and deliver Render’s governance layer, including authentication and authorization (SSO/SAML, SCIM, RBAC, session management), compliance readiness (SOC 2, HIPAA), audit logging, and policy enforcement.
  • Drive exploration and development of emerging security areas such as supply chain security (build-time scanning), runtime workload protection, and safe governance of agent-driven workflows.
  • Work directly with customers, prospects, and GTM teams to understand security requirements and procurement blockers, translating insights into clear product priorities.
  • Partner closely with Render’s Security and Expansion teams, along with engineering counterparts, to shape the roadmap and share accountability for outcomes.
  • Ensure all security features balance strong protections with a seamless, developer-first experience.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner across product, engineering, security, and GTM teams to align priorities, drive execution, and deliver impactful security capabilities that build customer trust and unlock growth.

Benefits

  • This opportunity is also eligible for equity with early-exercise options and extended exercise windows.
  • 4 weeks of paid vacation.
  • 14 weeks of fully paid parental leave for all parents to bond with a newly born, adopted, or fostered child. We will also work with you to create a supportive plan of return.
  • Long-term disability, life insurance, and 401K plans.
  • 100% employer-paid medical coverage and 99% employer-paid dental and vision coverage for you and a dependent.
  • FSAs and HSAs are available as well.
  • Monthly lifestyle stipend for wellness, mental health and therapy, hobbies, etc.
  • Monthly cell phone and internet subsidy.
  • Commuter benefits for Renders in the Bay Area, and home office stipends for remote Renders.
  • Continuous learning benefits & related support.
