About The Position

As a Product Manager I, you will be expected to learn the breadth of the product line. You will be responsible for increasing the profitability of existing products and assist in developing new products. You will learn to develop products from existing ideas and help to develop new ideas based on your contact with outside sales and customers. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy. You must enjoy spending time in the markets to understand customers’ problems and find innovative solutions. You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. You will work with other Product Managers and engineering counterparts in the product development and release process. You will work with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. You will also serve as the internal and external champion for your product offering, working with the inside and outside sales, sales channel, production, and key customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of product management experience - data communications industry is a plus.
  • Must have a strong aptitude to learn technical subjects.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to be continually proactive.
  • Must always be able to communicate in a professional manner. This role involves working with people daily; you must be a good listener and be able to analyze and problem-solve quickly. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate at all levels.
  • Must be proficient in the use of MS Office 365, including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook.
  • This employee must be able to lift 25 pounds and move 75 pounds. Must be able to sit, stand, and type.

Nice To Haves

  • Salesforce, Tableau, and Teamwork experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Understand, support, and drive product line revenue and profitability.
  • Product life cycle management, including feature enhancements and product revisions, cost reductions, and end-of-life responsibilities.
  • Execute product and product family business plans that include revenue and margin tracking, cost reductions, forecasting, market positioning, competitive analysis, and market analysis.
  • Support product line direction through product development initiatives, profitable pricing, and revenue generation within target markets and ongoing assessment of current product performance, pricing, position, competitor product trends, and evolving market needs.
  • Engage in developing product support tools, including marketing collateral, Internet and E-commerce site needs, product launches, and other media to support market requirements.
