About The Position

Directs a comprehensive product strategy from product conception and definition through end of life. Functions as a central resource with design, process, manufacturing, quality, test, marketing, and distribution as the product(s) and/or product line(s) move through their lifecycle. Formulates and executes long-term roadmaps for cost/profit control. Promotes use of new technologies and industry-leading trends. Directs those involved in the design, modification, and evaluation of all phases of a specific product or group of products. Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a product's lifecycle including modifications, upgrades, and maintenance of the product or product line.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Humanities, or related field.
  • 2+ years of Product Management or related work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of Product Management or related work experience.
  • 1+ year of working in a large matrixed organization.
  • 1+ year of working with operating budgets and/or project financials.
  • 1+ year of negotiating 3rd party business agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts analyses to assess marketability of products based on market, customer, technology, and other ecosystem demands.
  • Serves as a market and business advisor in the formation of a business case for the development of a new product or product features (i.e., time to market, cost, market share).
  • Drives the launch efforts of products and technologies for own area of responsibility by staying up to date on technological developments and customer needs through direct customer contact.
  • Seeks out market information and displays an understanding of the marketplace to contribute to the product roadmap.
  • Directs the development of moderately complex products and services under some supervision and communicates with individuals across functional teams.
  • Completes product development and definition activities including determination of cost and impact, and interacts with sales team to generate forecasts.
  • Stays up to date on competitors, technological advances, and product ecosystem and supports the development and design of new products.
  • Maintains effective communication within own team and cross-functional team(s) on the management of a single product.
  • Ensures successful cross-functional collaboration by ensuring that agreed upon KPIs and specifications are met for a single product, upon delivery by engineering team.
  • Supports the establishment of product goals (e.g., performance, cost, timeline) and collaborates with others to execute tasks based on established goals.
