About The Position

Position uses computer software to draw and design upholstery and case products in collaboration with product designers, management, and manufacturing. Position Details: Translate designer drawings into 3D models (SolidWorks)(Casegoods items) Create production part drawings with relevant dimensions Create bill of materials for all parts (Excel) from both 3D models and chair pattern parts Create top level bill of materials, gauges, etc. for import cases Create routings in SAP for chair components Communicate with purchasing and suppliers on all purchased parts, providing drawings, gauges and specifications as necessary Communicate with tooling manager and provide drawings as needed for new tooling requirements Conduct integrity checks on products being developed Engage with manufacturing Ensure manufacturing has all requirements necessary to produce product Fully support manufacturing for any engineering related issues that arise Follow up on prototypes (samples) and first-run products Conduct team checks on new product prior to release for production Complete engineering changes as needed Create spec sheets (Case Info) and assembly instructions as needed Collect and maintain spec sheets (Case Info) and assembly instructions for import cases Answer customer service questions related to product Investigate new materials and methods for improvements and cost savings

Requirements

  • Good set of core values: friendly, cooperative, helpful
  • 2-year degree required, 4-year degree preferred
  • Knowledge of and ability to use engineering principles
  • Knowledge of furniture design, construction, materials, equipment and processes
