At Doncasters we have an exciting opportunity for a Product Engineer to join our team at Doncasters Precision Castings-New England, located in Groton, CT. Doncasters is a leading international manufacturer of specialist superalloys and high – precision alloy components made for the most demanding conditions with manufacturing facilities in Europe, USA Mexico, China, and India. Doncasters Precision Castings of Groton is an industry leader in the development and production of Precision cast components. Some of the products produced at Groton include Nickel and cobalt based superalloy parts, engine structural components, castings – fans, compressors, and combustors and many more that keep the world in motion! Groton is one of our largest sites, based in Connecticut, employing 210 employees, and is still growing, Groton is situated in a great location for easy commuting. As a Product Engineer you will have the opportunity to manage projects from quote through to sales. Leading on the introduction of new work and contributing innovative ideas to continuous improvement. The engineer applies high level of technical knowledge related to metallurgical, process and manufacturing engineering to define the processes and techniques required for the economical development of superalloy investment castings to specific aerospace and other high standard customer specifications. A pro-active experienced engineer with the ability to interpret available data and implement a series of actions to bring about an efficient manufacturing process. You will be results driven working to establish and maintain customer deliverables, while using your experience, to ensure that safety and quality considerations are paramount at all times. You will also use your ability to read complex engineering drawings, to support fabrications with exotic metals on site and ensure that customers and suppliers expectations are exceeded. As a Product Engineer, you will receive extensive training while working within an experienced team. Requirements

  • An ambitious individual who has aerospace industry experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of investment casting process and manufacturing methods, techniques, Statistical Process Control, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of 3 or 5-axis CNC manufacturing, with a clear understanding of conventional metal removal, forming and joining preferred.
  • Knowledge of Solid Model/ CAD using auto-desk inventor software preferred.
  • Degree in Manufacturing Technology discipline preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
