About The Position

Terelion, LLC is looking for a Product Engineer in Irving, TX (Job Code R0087941) Your performance areas: The Product Engineer position is responsible for designing and developing down-the-hole (DTH) drilling equipment products. Key responsibilities include: Support and expandg Terelion’s line of mining drill products and conduct product failure analysis for drilling tool technology. Design drill equipment and support in-field use of new and innovative mining engineering equipment. Perform finite element analysis and apply computational fluid dynamics to develop and design drilling products, equipment, and tools for the mining industry that meet high quality requirements and performance standards. Conduct engineering analysis for mining equipment specifications and process requirements to conceive a practical design. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports. Utilize mechanical design tool technology to model and improve drilling products. Analyze equipment specifications and process requirements to design and support current and emerging product lines within Terelion. Provide on-site technical evaluation of product performance to improve product performance and reliability. Research, design, and evaluate the design of specialized hammers for down-the-hole drilling applications, equipment assembly and hardware development for mining use. Read and interpret engineering schematics and complex documents and apply the principles of engineering to a range of engineering, intellectual and practical problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Two (2) years of experience as Design Engineer or Product Design Leader.
  • The two (2) years of experience must have included designing, developing and testing pneumatic “down the hole” (DTH) hammer tool attachments used for the mining or construction industry; performing product research, benchmarking and reverse engineering of DTH hammers; and drafting, adapting, modeling, and simulating DTH hammers and components.
  • May telecommute from home within the Dallas, TX metropolitan statistical area (MSA ) up to two (2) days per week.
  • Up to 20% international travel required.
