About The Position

The Product Development Intern will support the development and validation of product specifications and be primarily involved with the product quality process. Secondarily, the product development intern will assist with the coordination and execution of our Food and Beverage internal sensory events. Assist the broader Product Development Team as needed.

Requirements

• Pursuing Bachelor's Degree with a concentration or major in Food Science
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products
• Experience or willingness to learn sensory techniques and sensory software (Compusense)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Positive attitude with a focus on Customer Service
• Detail oriented with strong organization and time management skills
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment

Responsibilities

• Perform quality control checks on key Wawa branded products. Document and communicate findings.
• Support development and verification of Wawa product specifications for priority products
• Work with product development team to support ingredient portioning
• Execute on-site sensory events. Assist with sample preparation, panel management, data review, and reporting.
• Verify key data points during menu authoring such and calories, allergens and ingredients.
• Assist Product Development Team with product testing and internal product reviews.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.
