About The Position

We're hiring a Product Designer II for the Uber Direct & Connect on-demand delivery team. Uber Direct & Connect helps both consumers and SMBs get anything delivered, from dry cleaning drop-offs and retail returns to custom shopping lists and cross-country deliveries. You'll unlock additional ways for earners to earn - catering, retail package delivery, and grocery shopping/delivery - as these use cases scale. As a Product designer for Uber Direct & Connect, you'll help build one of Uber's fastest-growing independent lines of business and will have the unique opportunity to work across three sides of the delivery marketplace, providing consumers and businesses around the world with access to our best-in-class logistics network. You'll be responsible for defining the future of Direct products, driving more affordable, flexible delivery options, and building features to accelerate our expansion to new markets.

Requirements

3+ years of experience delivering successful and innovative mobile products
Proficiency with Figma or similar tools and prototyping methods
A portfolio showing your high-quality, thoughtful UI and UX work

Nice To Haves

A degree in HCI, Graphic Design, or a related field
Experience building products from 0-1 and working on a growth design team
Experience working and collaborating in a scrappy, fast paced environment
Experience working with user experience researchers and various methods of research and user testing
Experience building into design systems and implementing systems components with engineers
Attention to detail and an ability to zoom out and zoom in to all aspects of a problem space
Familiarity with designing experiments and A/B testing

Responsibilities

Own design problems end-to-end, from initial concept through launch
Create wireframes, visual designs, and prototypes to solve complex UX problems.
Design systems to create simple, elegant experiences, working with cross-function product stakeholders to define requirements, not just translate them to design.
Identify future product and design opportunities, working as a critical thought partner to your counterparts in Product, Engineering, Data Science, Marketing, and Operations.
Present work in various mediums and fidelities throughout the design process.
Give and solicit feedback from other designers to continually raise our bar for quality.
Partner with our UX research team to understand the needs of our customers and integrate findings into design approaches.
Brainstorm, critique, and iterate with your Design colleagues.
Engage in points of collaboration with Product Management, Data Science, Product Marketing, and Engineering to build your designs.
Ship, measure, and improve your designs based on quantitative and qualitative feedback.
