About The Position
Building More Human Customer Experiences with AI Embedding product, privacy, and AI governance into next-generation platforms Sierra is hiring a Product Counsel to serve as a strategic legal partner to its product and engineering teams as the company builds AI-powered platforms for enterprise customer engagement. Based in San Francisco, this role provides end-to-end legal support across the product lifecycle—from ideation through launch and iteration—ensuring that privacy, compliance, intellectual property, and regulatory considerations are embedded into product development. The Product Counsel will help shape how Sierra’s platform evolves responsibly in a rapidly changing AI regulatory landscape. In this role, you’ll advise on product and platform initiatives, working closely with Engineering to integrate privacy-by-design principles and AI transparency measures. You’ll identify and mitigate legal, regulatory, IP, and data-related risks, and help design scalable processes that enable rapid innovation while maintaining strong governance standards. You’ll also counsel on emerging AI regulations and their applicability to Sierra’s products and services. The ideal candidate brings experience across both large law firm and in-house product counseling environments, with a strong foundation in privacy and data protection and a demonstrated ability to balance legal risk with business and product objectives. Comfort working closely with technical teams, translating complex requirements into clear, actionable guidance, and operating effectively in fast-paced, high-growth settings is essential.
