About The Position

Building More Human Customer Experiences with AI Driving best-in-class commercial contracting for an AI-native platform Sierra is hiring a Commercial Counsel to join its legal team and support the company’s rapid growth as it builds AI-powered platforms for enterprise customer engagement. As one of the early legal hires, this role offers broad exposure and meaningful ownership across commercial contracting and beyond. The Commercial Counsel will partner closely with Sales, Operations, and product teams to structure, negotiate, and scale commercial relationships while helping embed strong legal foundations across a fast-growing AI company. In this role, you’ll lead negotiation of SaaS subscription agreements, technology licenses, professional services agreements, channel partner arrangements, vendor contracts, and NDAs. You’ll advise on privacy and security-related provisions, including data processing and related contractual frameworks, and support complex enterprise negotiations with sound judgment and commercial pragmatism. You’ll also help build a best-in-class commercial function by developing templates, playbooks, and workflows that improve efficiency and scalability across the contract lifecycle. A strong understanding of the legal frameworks underpinning SaaS, intellectual property, privacy, and emerging AI regulations is essential, as you’ll be expected to advise broadly and confidently across contractual issues. The ideal candidate brings experience across both law firm and in-house technology environments, strong enterprise SaaS contracting skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth setting. You are collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable making judgment calls in the context of a scaling business.
