The Procurement Transplant Coordinator – RN Critical Care supports the mission, goals, and strategic plan of The Donor Network (TDN) by providing comprehensive ICU-level care to organ donors in the DCU. These nurses are responsible for all bedside care and daily management of patients, ensuring optimal stability and organ viability. In addition to managing donors in the DCU, these nurses are responsible for organ allocation, communication with transplant centers, and coordination of recovery logistics. They act as the primary liaison between hospital teams, NDN, and external partners to ensure compliance with OPTN/UNOS, CMS, and AOPO standards. Additionally, they will assist with donor evaluation and management at hospitals, support organ allocation and logistics, conduct hospital education and development activities, participate in quality improvement, and process development projects, and serve as a clinical resource for hospital and OPO staff. This role requires advanced clinical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a high-pressure, dynamic environment while upholding NDN’s core mission: to save and heal lives.
