About The Position

The Procurement Technical Expeditor drives execution of supply chain activities that support manufacturing operations and key project milestones by ensuring materials, equipment, and services are delivered on time and meet technical, quality, and operational requirements. Acting as a central point of coordination, this role works cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, operations, maintenance, and suppliers to align requirements, resolve supply chain issues, and implement solutions that prevent production disruptions. The Technical Expeditor identifies risks early, drives recovery actions, and removes barriers impacting delivery and project timelines. Success in this role requires strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes and supplier capabilities, along with the ability to influence outcomes, manage multiple priorities, and drive execution from planning through delivery with urgency and ownership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or related field.
  • 3-7 years of experience in supply chain, technical 3rd party inspections, project expediting/scheduling, or related industrial experience.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering drawings/specifications, and supplier quality requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, purchase orders, and quality documentation.
  • Proven experience managing multiple priorities, projects, and time-sensitive deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional execution with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to identify project needs, set priorities, and ensure timely procurement of equipment, materials, and services required to meet production schedules and project milestones.
  • Identify supply chain risks, technical gaps, and potential delivery disruptions early, and drive cross-functional efforts to develop and execute recovery plans.
  • Manage supplier execution through performance control, proactive communication, and on-site visits to verify progress, validate technical requirements, and resolve barriers to on-time delivery.
  • Align with engineering and suppliers to clarify technical specifications and ensure requirements are accurately interpreted and executed.
  • Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, logistics, and project teams to ensure seamless material flow, resolve shortages or damages, and support critical project timelines.
  • Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships, evaluating long-term performance and driving continuous improvement in quality, responsiveness, and execution capability.
  • Enforce flow-down requirements and ensure supplier compliance with company policies, customer requirements, safety standards, and industry regulations.
  • Drive visibility of project-critical orders, proactively communicate risks and mitigation strategies to leadership, and support schedule and priority decisions.
