The Organization: Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District is home to 18,000+ residents. Formed initially as Williamson County Municipal Utility District No. 2 in 1977, BCMUD provides water and wastewater services, recreational activities, beautiful gardens, parks, and miles of trails through the Brushy Creek community. BCMUD operates four swimming pools, four tennis courts, and a disc golf course throughout the community. At the heart of our District is the Brushy Creek Community Center. Our Community Center features two gyms, two racketball courts, weight room, rock wall, and recreational programming, including various fun activities, educational and fitness classes. Brushy Creek employs approximately 190 seasonal, part-time, and full-time team members. Procurement Specialist : Are you a detail-oriented professional with a knack for strategic purchasing and vendor management? Brushy Creek MUD is seeking a motivated Procurement Specialist to help us secure the best value in goods and services while supporting the essential operations of our District. In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring timely, cost-effective procurement that aligns with our standards for quality and compliance. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Business, Public Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 1 year of experience in procurement, purchasing, asset management, or related fields.
  • Exceptional customer service relationship techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data management.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the end-to-end purchasing and procurement process for the District's goods and services.
  • Manages vendor and contractor relationships, ensuring compliance with District policies, including collecting W-9s, certificates of insurance, and maintaining an accurate vendor database.
  • Oversees asset management activities and facilitates the surplus property process in accordance with District guidelines.
  • Supports solicitation efforts by reviewing and preparing RFP/RFQ documents in line with procurement plans.
  • Assists in evaluating bids by creating and managing detailed bid tabulation spreadsheets for accurate comparison and analysis.
  • Maintains and organizes all contract documentation, ensuring records are properly stored, updated, and accessible.
