Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters). As a Procurement Professional, you will be responsible for processing requisitions and providing support for purchasing, supply chain, sourcing, cost, price analyses and contract/purchase order generation.

Requirements

  • Data-driven Decision Making: Knowledge of the data-driven decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to gather and analyze data to make organizational decisions that align with strategic business objectives and goals.
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Procurement: Knowledge of buying and procurement; ability to work with organizational strategies and practices, and use tools for buying goods, supplies, equipment and services needed to conduct business.
  • Knowledge of a Specific Procurement System: Knowledge of the features, functions and operations of a specific procurement system; ability to develop and use tools, techniques, and practices for a specific procurement application.
  • Purchasing Tasks and Activities: Knowledge of policies, regulations and processes of purchasing; ability to use practices and procedures for procurement of materials, components, equipment and services.

Nice To Haves

  • 4-year undergraduate degree from an accredited university, or equivalent Procurement, Supply Chain, or Logistics work experience (3 years)
  • Master’s degree or MBA in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Business Administration
  • Expert Level training in Keelvar sourcing platform
  • At least two years of PowerBI or Tableau development experience
  • Experience working with SQL or equivalent
  • Advanced analytic ability within Microsoft Excel
  • At least two years of past work experience working with transportation sourcing software (e.g. Keelvar, Transporeon, TiContract, etc…)
  • At least two years of past work experience with transportation management system (e.g. Blue Yonder, SAP, Oracle, MercuryGate, etc…)
  • Experience working with Salesforce, or alternative customer relationship management (CRM) software
  • Experience working with multiple modes of transportation in procurement or operational roles

Responsibilities

  • Developing improvement plans to support buyers & professionals related to Response Time, Lean Targets Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM) to enable optimal and efficient operations.
  • Performing analysis and maintenance of assigned processes that produce output excellence, builds expertise for the assign process area, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Supporting customers and customer proposal efforts with pricing information and supplier selection.
  • Performing analytical and administrative tasks in support of purchasing strategic initiatives.
