What You Will Do: As the Procurement Manager of the Tucson Proving Ground facility, you will play a critical role in strengthening our Supply Chain organization. You will lead a team and oversee all purchasing and sourcing activities, driving operational efficiency and enhancing supplier relationships to ensure timely, cost-effective procurement that aligns with project objectives. In this role, you will develop and implement sourcing strategies, manage supplier performance, and mitigate supply risks to support business continuity. You will be responsible for managing daily procurement operations, monitoring key metrics, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement as our supply chain grows in both volume and complexity. The position requires a detail-oriented professional who excels at executing purchasing tasks, conducting tactical negotiations, and providing analytical support based on data. You will collaborate cross-functionally with business units, legal, engineering, and finance, to ensure compliance with policies, and effective contract management. By consistently adhering to compliance standards and industry best practices, you will contribute to delivering high-quality solutions that fulfill customer requirements, drive innovation, and support organizational success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Drive change and innovation to mitigate supply risks and optimize procurement processes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business units, legal, engineering, and finance to ensure compliance and effective contract management.
  • Oversee daily procurement operations, including quote requests, purchase orders, invoice/contract approvals, and vendor management.
  • Monitor key performance metrics, analyze data, and recommend improvements for continuous process enhancement.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement regulations, contract specifications, and company policies.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for supplier issues, resolving routine concerns and escalating complex matters as needed.
  • Research and select alternative vendors to ensure quality, delivery, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop procurement staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Provide feedback and coaching on effective communication and negotiation.
  • Identify and mitigate supply risks to support business continuity.
